- Login Method Distribution By Param — a bar chart breaking down logins by method and a dimension you choose inside the card (Group By).

🎛️ Filters
Standard Filters
- Location / Parent Location / Grandparent Location — filter by organisational hierarchy
- Job Title — filter by employee role
- Contract Type — filter by employment contract
- Full Name / Employee ID — find a specific employee
- Status — employee status (Active, Leaver, Left, Starting Soon, Deactivated). Defaults to Active and Leaver.
Report-Specific Filters
| Filter | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Activity Date Range | Past 30 days | Limits Login Activity cards (active users, login methods, User Login Stats) to a window. |
| Feed name | -- | Narrows Feed Activity to one or more feeds. |
| All Locations Downstream From | -- | Includes every location nested under a chosen ancestor in the org hierarchy. |
| Last Login Method | -- | Inside the User Login Stats card on the Login Activity tab, narrows the rows to a specific login source (App, Kiosk, Web). |
Dynamic Parameters
The Date Aggregation parameter changes the time grain of the # Of Active Users Per Period (Last 12 Months) trend chart. Options: Daily, Weekly, Monthly. Default: Monthly.
The Group By parameter lives inside the Login Method Distribution By Param card on the Login Activity tab. Open the dropdown inside that card to switch how logins are summarised — by Location, Parent location, Grandparent location, Job title, Contract type, or Employee. Default: Location.
💡 Advanced Filtering
The Last Login Method filter lives inside the User Login Stats card on the Login Activity tab. Open its dropdown to narrow the table to users whose last login came from a specific source — useful when you want to see, for example, only Kiosk users or only Web users.
📅 Date Filtering
The Activity Date Range filter at the top of the dashboard controls every login-based card on the Login Activity tab, including the active user counts and the per-employee stats. Default: Past 30 days.
The # Of Active Users Per Period (Last 12 Months) chart is the one exception — it always shows a rolling 12-month window regardless of this filter, so you can see longer-term adoption trends. The Chat Activity and Users & Profile Pictures tabs are not date-filtered and reflect the current state of your data.
❗️ Important Definitions
- Active user — a user counted as "Active" has logged into Sona at least once during the Activity Date Range (or, for the 12-month trend chart, at least once in the relevant period). It is not the same as Employee Status = Active, which reflects employment state.
- Engagement — on the Feed Activity tab, total engagement is the sum of reactions and comments on a post. Deleted reactions and comments are excluded, so totals reflect current sentiment rather than historical activity.
❓ Common Questions
Why are some users missing from User Login Stats?
The table only includes users your account has permission to manage, scoped by Sona's authorisation rules. If you expect to see someone and don't, it's likely a permissions setup rather than missing data — check with your Sona admin.
Why doesn't the "Number of chats" column match what I see on the Chat Activity tab?
The Number of chats column in User Login Stats counts every chat channel that user is a member of, organisation-wide. The Chat Activity tab applies your current Location and hierarchy filters, so its totals can be lower.
